The Art Initiative Program utilizes art to help artists living with disabilities increase hand/eye and physical coordination, hand control, focus, and other therapeutic skills. Through art, our artists are able to express themselves and gain a sense of accomplishment while also building self-esteem. Our artists take great pride in their work and sharing their creations with others. The program also helps each artist to develop his/her skills based on the person’s abilities and challenges. Many of the artists are in wheelchairs with limited mobility and often intellectual challenges. Yet despite the challenges they face, they are able to create incredible art work. The artists’ work is showcased not only in our on-site Easter Seals gallery, but also in various galleries in our community. The artists financially benefit directly from the sale of art, which also helps support the program and pay for supplies. The artists with disabilities who participate in our Art Initiative program truly demonstrate our motto every day – “Art Knows No Boundaries!” Please support our artists and the Art Initiative Program by purchasing one of the beautiful art pieces below. Contact Caroline Tanner at (941) 355-7637 ext. 410 to purchase art or to schedule a tour of our on-site gallery. *Artists are also available for commissioned pieces*
